Zearing set to Crank it up to Eleven in 2007!

Next weekend, Zearing proudly celebrates its annual Zearing Days celebration. The three-day event is scheduled to take place the last weekend of July - the 27th, 28th, and 29th. This year’s special event features a wide array of nearly 50 different events, games, and activities for the whole family, including separate kids and teen dances, a classic car show, firemen’s water fights, ball games, live entertainment, a lip sync contest, fireworks extravaganza, numerous games and attractions, a craft show, antique tractor displays, and a whole lot more! Get ready for the biggest Zearing Days celebration yet. With all the events, entertainment, and food lined up, we know you'll want to join us as we crank things up to eleven in 2007! McCallsburg Lions Annual Pancake Supper

On Monday, February 19th, The McCallsburg Lions Club will hold it's annual Pancake and Sausage Supper at Bethany Lutheran Fellowship Hall, with serving from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. There will be a free will offering with all net proceeds forwarded to the McCallsburg Fire Department-E.M.S. Unit. Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans will be matching funds. Please plan to attend, enjoy the meal and fellowship, and support the Fire Department!

Magician Keith West to Perform at Dakins Community Center February 11th

Enjoy a fun filled evening for the whole family as magician and comedian Keith West will bring his Las Vegas style show to Zearing on Sunday, February 11th at Dakins Community Center. This event is presented by the Entertainment Group of Des Moines. Described as one of the finest magicians in the Midwest, West will have you wondering, “How does he do that?” as he presents spell-binding tricks and illusions most people have only seen on television. The fast-paced event will be entertaining and funny for all ages. The show will also be interlaced with West's unique blend of comedy. The event will take place one night on Sunday, February 11th from 5-7 pm at Dakins Community Center in Zearing. Tickets are $10.00 for Adults and $6.00 children 11 and under. Advanced tickets can be purchased a Security State Bank of Zearing or at Max's Auto Repair/1 Stop Auto Parts in Zearing. Tickets bought in advance will be eligible for a wide assortment of door prizes. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the door starting at 4:30 pm. This will be an evening of fun and laughs while supporting Zearing Days 2007.

Zearing and McCallsburg Blood Drive

The Blood Center of Iowa will be visiting your community on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Dakins Community Center. The drive will be held from 2:30pm 6:30PM. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins can only be accepted as the schedule permits. To schedule your appointment, contact Joyce Stalzer at 641-487-7240. This drive is sponsored by St. Gabriel Ladies Guild & McCallsburg American Legion.

Community Tree Lighting and Visit from Santa

The third-annual Zearing Community Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place on Friday, December 1st at 6:30 pm on Main Street. Come join us as we light Centennial Park’s 30 plus-foot evergreen tree for the holiday season. Complementary cider, hot cocoa, and goodies will be served at Zearing Library following the event. Santa Claus has also agreed to swing in from the North Pole this one night to greet the children. Come together with your friends and neighbors to celebrate the start of the Christmas season!
