District Background
The Colo-NESCO Community School District was formed in the late 1980's from the Colo School District, and from the Zearing and McCallsburg District: NESCO (acronym from for North East Story County). Together, these three communities unite under one district, and call themselves the Colo-NESCO Royals.
The central office is based in McCallsburg, along with an elementary (K-5) school. Zearing houses the Middle School (6-8). Colo also has an elementary school, along with the district's High School (9-12).
At the high school level, over 80 academic classes, and over 20 extra curricular activities and programs are offered. Extensive use of computers, the Internet, and the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) connect students and instructors to the world!
