To date, ZEDC has helped bring in over $145,000 in economic development funds to the Zearing community.

The Zearing Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit organization, dedicated to retaining, supporting, and improving existing properties, all while stimulating growth in business, industry, and housing in the greater Zearing community. The ZEDC is comprised of a nine-member board of directors, representing business, education, and government, in partnership with various organizations at local, county, and state levels.

Threshold Learning Center
Threshold Learning Center (TLC) is a non-profit organization offering hands-on science curriculum in Astronomy, Geology, Archaeology, Ecology and Environmental Science. Zearing Economic Development is working with TLC in their efforts to build a dormitory which will house students and visitors from all over the state of Iowa. More...

Zearing News & Country Journal is a community newsletter published each month by Zearing Economic Development. Our goal is to inform the residents of Zearing and former residents alike. Quite simply, there’s a lot going on, and we want to be the beacon that spreads the good news. More...
Housing Initiatives
Zearing Economic Development is currently looking into the possibility of expanding housing in the Zearing community, and obtaining funding for residential property improvements. More information about these programs will be posted as it becomes available.
Community Outreach
Over the past several years, ZEDC has helped refurbished blight properties, assisted organizations with their fundraising efforts, published a community business directory, and launched/sponsored the Zearing Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2004.
